The Director of Safety Operations reports directly to the Technical Director and is responsible for establishing and advocating the safety policies and protocols of the RATP Dev group. This role involves creating a comprehensive risk assessment framework and implementing effective prevention strategies. The Director serves as the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues within the organization, covering both road and rail sectors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and enforce policies, standards, and procedures to comply with legal requirements and manage risks throughout the organization.
- Integrate safety considerations into every facet of company operations.
- Perform regular risk evaluations and audits across subsidiaries to pinpoint potential hazards and enact effective risk reduction measures.
- Collaborate with the HQSE department to establish and implement emergency response strategies and protocols.
- Lead thorough investigations into serious incidents within the organization.
- Execute corrective actions and preventive strategies based on investigation outcomes, in partnership with the HQSE department.
- Oversee the management of the safety incidents database for rail and road operations and generate reports for the executive committee.
- Assist in preparing bids and proposals with a focus on safety for bus and rail projects.
- Stay informed about safety regulations pertaining to road and rail operations across various countries.
- Design and conduct safety training initiatives for personnel.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness, ensuring that all employees comprehend and comply with safety regulations throughout the organization.
- Maintain precise and current safety documentation and records.
- Compile and present regular reports to management and regulatory bodies.
