Position Overview:
ADM is in search of a qualified mariner to lead and oversee operations of a tugboat at our fleeting site.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the daily safe and effective functioning of the vessel under the guidance of the Fleet Manager.
- Ensure regular maintenance, cleanliness, and engineering tasks are performed, reporting any issues promptly.
- Oversee crew members and, in collaboration with the vessel manager, communicate roles and performance expectations; conduct evaluations and recommend personnel actions; and facilitate training.
- Complete necessary vessel documentation in accordance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, reporting any incidents or damages.
- Maintain security protocols for the fleet and act as the vessel security officer.
- Execute duties as the Person in Charge during fuel transfers.
- Ensure crew members report injuries, illnesses, and near misses promptly, reviewing all reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate operations and dock movements with other tugs as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Possess a valid USCG Master of Towing Vessels Upon the Western Rivers License.
- Embody the ADM Way and core values.

- Proven track record of safe work practices and a commitment to enhancing safety protocols.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

- Complete required training and attend necessary meetings.

- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is mandatory; if not possessed at hire, application must be initiated within five days.
- Prior experience as a Captain is preferred.
- Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and company performance exam.
- Ability to navigate a vessel safely.
- Capability to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors, under differing conditions.
- Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
- Proficient in operating a keyboard.
- Ability to kneel and climb stairs/ladders.
- Comfortable working near or on large bodies of water, at varying heights, and in confined spaces.
