We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team at the OECD. The successful candidate will contribute to the work of the Committee on Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) and the Working Party of Industry Analysis (WPIA).
Main Responsibilities:- Lead analytical work in the areas of Global Value Chains, their resilience and globalisation.
- Identify policy-relevant questions and their corresponding analytical needs.
- Foster and participate in the extension and improvement of the OECD analytical and methodological work in the areas of Global Value Chains.
- Identify critical issues and good practices for policy purposes.
- Keep abreast of and contribute to recent policy-relevant literature.
- Coordinate the production of policy-relevant analytical working papers and publications.
- Lead drafting of project proposals and contribute to input requests by senior management.
- Manage activities of the CIIE and the WPIA by overseeing the preparation of documents and implementation of decisions.
- Identify areas in which empirical work is necessary and lead works orientated to the formulation of policy recommendations.
- Manage and lead a team of economists, statisticians, consultants and support staff.
- Contribute to OECD horizontal projects and initiatives in OECD Member countries and non-member countries.
- Present the results of reports to relevant Committees and Working Parties.
- Liaise with officials and technical experts in national statistical offices and other international organisations.
- Participate in the communication of the CIIE and WPIA work.
- Contribute to the organisation of conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- An advanced university degree in economics, statistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of eight years' experience in policy-relevant quantitative analysis.
- Experience with structural, microeconomic policy issues, notably related to Global Value Chains.
- Ability to design and manage data intensive projects and econometric analysis.
- Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French).
- OECOD staff are expected to demonstrate behaviours aligned to six core competencies.
