About the Role

As a Director of Supply Chain for New Product Launches , you will be pivotal in overseeing and managing the comprehensive supply chain operations essential for the successful introduction of new products. Your role will encompass driving operational excellence, facilitating collaboration among diverse teams, and ensuring the smooth integration of new offerings into the supply chain. Your proficiency in supply chain management and new product introduction processes will be crucial in enhancing efficiency, minimizing risks, and meeting business goals.

With the recent establishment of the EMEA Supply Chain team, you will be tasked with developing the new product introduction function. Additionally, you will focus on cost optimization through design-to-cost initiatives (Value Engineering/Value Analysis).

Responsibilities
  1. NPI Leadership: Establish and lead the NPI team at the EMEA level, overseeing the entire NPI process while ensuring alignment of supply chain strategies with product development timelines and business objectives. Provide strategic guidance and promote cross-functional collaboration among teams, including procurement, manufacturing, logistics, quality assurance, and engineering.
  2. Supply Chain Optimization: Formulate and execute supply chain strategies, policies, and procedures to facilitate efficient and effective NPI execution. Identify areas for process enhancements, cost reductions, and risk management, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  3. Project Management: Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones for NPI initiatives. Track progress, identify potential obstacles, and implement corrective measures to ensure timely delivery and launch of new products. Regularly update stakeholders on project status.
  4. Supplier Management: Work closely with procurement teams to select and manage suppliers for NPI projects. Assess supplier capabilities, negotiate contracts, and establish performance metrics to guarantee timely delivery of quality components and materials. Ensure that supplier expertise is leveraged in product development.
  5. Inventory and Demand Planning: Collaborate with demand planning teams to forecast product demand and manage inventory levels during the NPI phase. Coordinate with manufacturing and logistics teams to ensure sufficient inventory availability while minimizing excess or obsolete stock.
  6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and devise risk mitigation strategies for NPI projects. Proactively address supply chain disruptions, quality concerns, capacity limitations, and other challenges to minimize their impact on product launches.
  7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of NPI supply chain processes. Generate regular reports, analyze data, and provide insights to senior management to facilitate informed decision-making.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Cultivate strong relationships and effective communication channels with internal stakeholders, including product development teams, marketing, finance, and sales. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align objectives, resolve issues, and ensure successful NPI execution.
  9. Drive and consolidate all Design to Cost (VE/VA) initiatives at the EMEA level.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is advantageous.
  2. 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, ideally in a senior role with exposure to New Product Introductions.
  3. Strong comprehension of end-to-end supply chain functions, including procurement, manufacturing, logistics, quality assurance, and demand planning.
  4. Robust project management skills with the capability to lead complex, cross-functional projects and meet deadlines.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and tackle supply chain challenges.
  6. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Proficient in utilizing supply chain management systems and software.
  8. Awareness of industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain and NPI processes.
