About the Establishment:
The GAPAS offers specialized services for children with disabilities in the Hauts-de-France region, organized under Sector 0-20, which serves children from birth to 20 years old. This sector includes:
- Three medico-social facilities (two motor education institutes and one medico-educational institute) providing both residential and day care options.
- Support services such as early medico-social action centers, family assistance, early education services, and programs aimed at fostering autonomy and educational support.
- Adapted schooling initiatives located within the Lille metropolitan area.
Sector 0-20 Summary:
- Approximately 400 children aged 0 to 20 years with disabilities.
- Operational within the Hauts-de-France region.
- Funded by the Hauts-de-France Regional Health Agency and the Departmental Council.
The Médico-Educational Institute 'La Pépinière' in Loos plays a crucial role in supporting around a hundred children and young adults aged 4 to 20, focusing on enhancing their social skills related to visual impairments and associated challenges.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Mobility Instructor at Gapas, you will operate under the guidance of a Director and collaborate closely with the healthcare team to enhance the autonomy of visually impaired individuals with additional disabilities. Your primary objective will be to assist individuals in maximizing their visual capabilities or developing compensatory strategies. Key responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating sensory development.
- Teaching specific mobility techniques and behaviors.
- Providing guidance on assistive technologies.
- Adapting the physical environment to enhance accessibility.
- Training families and caregivers in supportive practices.
- Encouraging outdoor mobility to foster inclusion.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong theoretical understanding of visual impairments.
- Practical experience in mobility techniques.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards for individuals with visual impairments.
- Ability to adapt to diverse situations and disabilities.
- Familiarity with specialized equipment and environmental modifications.
- Skills in developing multi-sensory experiences and teaching methodologies, along with assisting in spatial and temporal organization.
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications include ergotherapists, specialized educators, and psychomotor therapists. A diploma in Locomotion Instruction is mandatory. Previous experience in relevant fields is preferred, and a valid B driver's license is required.
Position Details:
- Work schedule from Monday to Friday.
- Facility closure during school holidays, with no weekend shifts.
- Potential for work across multiple locations.
- Position governed by Collective Bargaining Agreement 1966 with SEGUR bonus.
