The GAPAS organization is seeking a highly skilled Instructor in Locomotion and Visual Impairment to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans to promote independence and autonomy in daily living activities.
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs and abilities of individuals with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.
- Provide training and guidance on the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment to enhance daily living skills.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to rehabilitation.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate families, caregivers, and other professionals on strategies for supporting individuals with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as rehabilitation, special education, or occupational therapy.
- Experience working with individuals with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
