Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical systems and components for nuclear facilities, including reactors, piping systems, and support structures.
- Ensure designs meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct analyses to assess the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
- Optimize system designs to improve efficiency, safety, and longevity.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs for mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure continuous operation of mechanical systems.
- Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Ensure all mechanical engineering activities comply with national and international nuclear safety regulations and standards.
- Prepare and maintain required documentation and reports for regulatory bodies.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for mechanical systems.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to protect personnel and equipment.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other engineering teams and departments.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of mechanical equipment and materials.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in mechanical engineering.
- Stay current with advancements in mechanical engineering and nuclear industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of designs, analyses, maintenance activities, and system performance.
- Generate reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Participate in the training and development of junior engineers and technical staff.
- Provide training on mechanical systems and safety procedures as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng)) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably within the nuclear industry or a similarly regulated environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Willingness to travel to various sites and facilities as needed.
