Position Title: Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer to become a part of our team in the nuclear sector. The ideal candidate will take charge of the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems within our nuclear facilities. This position is essential for guaranteeing the reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance of our mechanical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical System Design and Development
    • Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems and components for nuclear facilities, including reactors, cooling systems, and support infrastructure.
    • Ensure that designs adhere to all safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
  • Project Management
    • Lead mechanical engineering projects from initial concept to final completion.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Maintenance and Reliability
    • Establish and implement maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of mechanical systems.
    • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
    • Lead technical reviews and design evaluations to uphold high standards of engineering quality.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure that all mechanical engineering activities comply with national and international nuclear safety regulations and standards.
    • Prepare and submit necessary documentation and reports to regulatory authorities.
  • Safety and Risk Management
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with mechanical systems.
    • Implement safety protocols and procedures to safeguard personnel and equipment.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for enhancing mechanical system performance and efficiency.
    • Implement innovative solutions and best practices to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of designs, maintenance activities, and system performance.
    • Generate reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    • Effectively communicate with regulatory bodies, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding mechanical engineering activities.
    • Provide technical support and advice to other engineering teams and departments.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and deliver training programs for engineering staff on mechanical systems and best practices.
    • Stay updated with advancements in mechanical engineering and nuclear industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng)) is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in the nuclear industry or a related high-tech sector.
