CIMMYT, a leading international research organization, is seeking a dynamic professional to join its Legal Department as a Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the contract life cycle management of agreements entered by CIMMYT with its national and international partners and service providers. This includes contract development, drafting, review, negotiation, amendment, and release, as well as quality control and archiving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the contract life cycle of agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide legal counsel and advice on CIMMYT's research, institutional, and corporate activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure proper contract management and compliance.
- Represent CIMMYT in negotiations and communications with partners and service providers.
- Develop and implement processes to improve contract management efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, with a Master's degree in Corporate, International, or IP Law being desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, with additional experience in private and public sector industry related to agricultural R&D and biotechnology being a plus.
- Advanced level of English, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational, writing, research, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software, with experience with ticketing systems software being desirable.
