About the Role

Newrest is seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team as a Cook III. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a globally renowned company, preparing and cooking meals for one of the main airlines at the George Bush International Airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of hot food items, including meats, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, and seasonings, to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Ensure that all food preparation areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of menu items and food products, and be able to prepare requisitions for supplies and food items as needed.
  • Work efficiently to meet service schedules, and be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Assist in the setting up, serving, and cooking of menu items required for special functions and catered events.
  • Butcher meats, fish, and poultry for portioning and production.
Requirements
  • Culinary degree or related experience preferred.
  • A desire to satisfy the needs of others in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • 3 years of previous experience in fine dining cook experience preferred.
Competencies
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail.
