Department Overview
The Global Risk Management (GRM) department plays a pivotal role in providing an independent assessment of risks across all investment teams and entities within AXA IM. This department is essential in supporting risk mitigation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent analysis and management of Investment Risks, including Market Risk, Credit and Counterparty Risk, Liquidity Risk, Performance Risk, and Pricing and Valuation Risk for AXA IM's investment operations in France.
- Lead or assist in project-based activities aimed at enhancing global risk frameworks, particularly in areas such as Liquidity Risk and Counterparty Risk.
- Collaborate with other GRM teams to provide risk analysis support as required.
Accountabilities
As an Investment Risk Analyst, you will be at the forefront of risk identification and measurement, engaging regularly with business and risk committees. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating new investment strategies, funds, and products from a market, credit, liquidity, and valuation risk perspective.
- Defining investment guidelines and analyzing remediation plans for any potential breaches.
- Maintaining ongoing awareness of portfolio risk positioning through third-party risk systems and internal tools.
- Continuously reviewing AXA IM's risk control framework to ensure compliance with both internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Enhancing AXA IM's risk frameworks, including coverage, indicators, stress testing, and risk reporting.
Reporting
Provide regular updates to senior management regarding portfolio risk positioning and the effectiveness of the risk oversight process.
Candidate Profile
Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk or portfolio management within Investment Banking or Asset Management.
- Strong understanding of various asset classes, derivatives, and their risk modeling.
- Technical proficiency in IT, including the ability to develop monitoring and reporting tools (VBA, Python, Access/SQL) and familiarity with standard risk analysis tools.
- Knowledge of Structured Credit, Riskmetrics, and Tableau is advantageous.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Ability to work independently on complex tasks while demonstrating thoroughness and sound judgment.
- Capability to deliver timely and actionable results that create value.
- Skill in providing clear summaries and presentations to management, emphasizing key points and outcomes.
- Proactive in identifying potential challenges and escalating issues to management as necessary.
- Strong team player with the ability to build relationships across teams globally.
