Job Description

ESRF is a world-leading research facility for X-ray microscopy, providing high-brilliance beams for coherent imaging techniques, X-ray fluorescence microscopy, and nanotomography.

The main scientific areas covered by X-ray nano-tomography include cellular biology, neurosciences, biomineralization, and advanced materials science.

You will play a crucial role in the operation, maintenance, and development of nano-imaging stations, offering opportunities for collaborative work at the forefront of the field.

Providing user support and engaging in research programmes in close collaboration with the beamline team are key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • You hold a Higher university degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Proven experience in beamline instrumentation, development, and operation, data acquisition, image processing, and scientific programming.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in hard X-ray microscopy, exploiting coherent hard X-ray imaging and X-ray fluorescence microscopy.
  • Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary staff and facility users.
  • English proficiency is required.

Working Conditions

Permanent contract.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.

ESRF offers a competitive compensation and allowances package, including financial support for relocation to Grenoble.
