We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric to join our team at New York State. As a key member of our mental health care team, you will provide professional nursing services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing interventions and document patient care
- Conduct case finding and health teaching/counseling
- Participate in staff training and prepare clinical reports
- Maintain infection control standards and function as a member of a treatment team
- Act as a charge nurse on a unit and manage inventory standards for medicine, controlled drugs, and narcotics
- Possession of a license and current registration to practice nursing in New York State
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Failure to maintain licensure and registration may result in removal from the position
- Exclusion from Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare programs may lead to termination
- Enrollment in Medicare and obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number may be required
