Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Research Engineer to contribute to a cutting-edge multidisciplinary technological research initiative centered on hardware security and software/hardware analyses utilizing formal methodologies. This role involves participating in a collaborative national research endeavor aimed at automating the design of processor micro-architectures, with a particular focus on embedded RISC-V processors.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the definition and development of methodologies for the automated implementation of security countermeasures at both architectural and micro-architectural levels.
- Develop architectural models of hardware countermeasures, particularly addressing fault injection vulnerabilities, along with their corresponding software components.
- Investigate the relationship between architectural and micro-architectural characteristics, outlining methods to articulate micro-architectural features within a high-level synthesis framework.
Essential Qualifications
- Doctorate in electronics or computer science, specializing in embedded systems.
- Extensive experience in processor architecture and/or hardware security domains.
- Familiarity with RTL synthesis processes, EDA tools, and formal verification methods is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary research setting, balancing applied and theoretical research.
Technical Expertise
- Proficient in computer architecture and programming: Embedded processor designs, low-level machine code, embedded software, and hardware description languages (HDL).
- Proven experience collaborating with both industrial and academic research partners.
