At TE Connectivity, you will harness your capabilities while collaborating with individuals from various backgrounds and sectors to foster a safer, more sustainable, and interconnected world.
Position Overview
Oversees all facets of a worldwide product line or portfolio, from spearheading new product innovation to production, marketing, and sales. Operates the portfolio akin to a 'mini' General Manager. Accountable for the comprehensive product strategy, business direction, and capacity planning to achieve sales and profit margin objectives. Leads a team of product managers and/or associate product managers.
Key Responsibilities
Market Analysis & Strategic Development
- Identify market trends, demand influencers, customer requirements, industry developments, and competitive dynamics.
- Execute market segmentation initiatives to formulate strategies tailored to specific market segments.
- Conduct competitive assessments and benchmarking.
- Establish segment-specific value propositions that surpass competitors.
- Create product roadmaps that align with corporate strategy.
- Design go-to-market strategies, including channel strategies and partnerships.
- Collaborate with R&D and operations to develop new products that fulfill current and future customer needs.
- Oversee the product lifecycle management.
Business Planning
- Define resource needs essential for executing the product roadmap.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to establish sales, technology, and operational strategies and objectives in alignment with financial targets. Build consensus on specific initiatives.
- Set pricing strategies.
- Formulate the annual operational plan (Sales and profit margin).
Execution: New Product Launch
- Champion opportunities for product advancement projects.
- Plan product introductions, including the formulation of marketing and sales strategies.
- Provide demand forecasting inputs to Sales and Operations Planning.
- Participate in customer engagements to support new business acquisition.
- Demonstrate thought leadership.
- Supply insights to Marketing Communications for the creation of promotional materials, including digital content.
Execution: Post-Launch Product Management
- Manage the product line's performance (sales and profit margin) for the designated portfolio.
- Drive sustained profitable growth.
- Equip sales teams to promote the product line through training and the development of marketing materials that effectively communicate the value proposition.
- Handle special pricing inquiries.
- Monitor progress against the business plan and facilitate the resolution of discrepancies.
- Act as the advocate for resolving product-related issues (e.g., quality, delivery, etc.).
Team Development
- Oversee and nurture a team of product managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field is required.
- Advanced degree (MBA) or relevant qualifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or sales; an MBA is advantageous.
- Relevant product or industry experience is desirable.
- Experience in managing direct reports is essential.
- Advanced degree (MBA) or relevant P&L management experience is preferred.
