Your R.A.S Services agency is currently in search of an Assistant Chef for the collective catering division within a nursing facility.

POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT CHEF

Role Overview:

Recruitment Context: You will be part of a culinary team led by the Head Chef, responsible for delivering exceptional dining services to a facility accommodating 84 elderly residents.

Your primary role will be to support the Head Chef, ensuring efficient kitchen operations and the successful preparation and presentation of meals for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and organizing the kitchen prior to service
  • Cooking nutritious meals using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients whenever possible, based on supplier availability
  • Producing culinary items in accordance with dietary menus and specific nutritional guidelines
  • Plating and serving appetizers, main courses, and desserts with assistance from the kitchen support staff
  • Ensuring high-quality service in terms of taste and presentation to delight residents and clients
  • Adhering to and enforcing hygiene and safety protocols in the kitchen (HACCP)
  • Monitoring inventory levels and providing insights for managing culinary and hygiene product supplies
  • Cleaning and maintaining work areas and equipment after each service
  • Collaborating effectively with team members

Additional Information:

This is a full-time interim position with the possibility of renewal.

Work hours are continuous, with shifts such as 7:30 am to 2:30 pm or 2:15 pm to 8:00 pm.

Weekend shifts will be required on a rotating basis.

Compensation will be aligned with the company’s collective agreement, taking into account qualifications, experience, and job title.

Monthly bonuses may be available, including continuous activity and minimum service bonuses.

Employees will receive daily meal benefits.

Candidate Profile:

Applicants should possess culinary training, ideally with a minimum of BEP or CAP Cuisine, and have proven experience as a cook in traditional or collective dining settings.

If you have held chef roles in collective dining for several years and are looking to advance as an Assistant Chef, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Experience in medical-social collective facilities is advantageous but not mandatory.

Proficiency in culinary techniques and HACCP standards is essential.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a passion for the culinary arts, strong teamwork skills, discretion, and a generous spirit that resonates with guests.
