The Role

As a Network Reliability Engineer, your primary focus will be to guarantee that our Network Services are architected, implemented, and maintained at scale, ensuring high performance and availability, in line with the SRE principles we apply to our Network domain. Your key drivers will be reliability, innovation, expertise, scalability, and agility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create new shared services to enhance Worldline's speed and innovation.
  • Integrate community products into our ecosystem.
  • Develop your own tools using simple scripts or advanced programming languages.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders within the organization.
  • Assist business units in transitioning their existing solutions to our new infrastructure through coding, automation, and CI/CD.
  • Manage, innovate, and create shared services and tools that continuously enhance the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Worldline.
  • Work collaboratively to construct fast, reliable, and resilient production systems.
  • Develop, configure, and refine our automation framework and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Produce documentation that is accessible for all collaborators, including technical and user documentation.
  • Execute daily operational tasks such as change management, application monitoring, and deployment.
  • Ensure the security of our services, as security is paramount in the payments industry and must be prioritized from the outset.

Candidate Profile

  • Academic or Bachelor level education or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Network and automation within a high-availability environment.
  • Self-sufficient and quick to learn.
  • Proficient in development and programming.
  • Capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Able to navigate a complex automation stack independently.
  • Automation is your solution to most challenges.
  • Security-focused mindset.
  • Skilled in balancing stability with agility, operational tasks with software engineering, and proactive with reactive work.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in Network protocols and standards (TCP/IP, BGP, VPN, DNS, Firewall, Load-Balancer).
  • Comfortable with Linux (Red Hat / CentOS).
  • Experienced with version control systems like Git, GitLab, and CI/CD practices.
  • Familiar with automation based on Source Of Truth (Netbox, Nautobot).
  • Proficient in Terraform (aiming for infrastructure defined as code).
  • Skilled in scripting languages (bash, python, ruby, ansible, CI/CD).
  • Comfortable with hybrid infrastructure (On-premises and cloud).
  • Knowledgeable about cloud solutions and frameworks (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform).
  • Familiar with security standards (PCI-DSS, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an NRE or in a similar operational role combining Network and automation.
  • Certifications in cloud provider technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, PagerDuty, New Relic).
  • Understanding of compliance and security best practices in cloud environments.
