About the Role

Serco is seeking a skilled Launch System Electrical Avionics Engineer to join our team at the European Space Agency's (ESA) headquarters in Paris, France. As a key member of our On-Board Computer & Data Handling Section, you will provide critical support to ESA projects and contribute to the development of advanced on-board data handling solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Ariane 6 project by performing a diverse range of tasks, including hardware, software, and system aspects.
  • Define technical specifications for hardware and software items, and procure them accordingly.
  • Evaluate verification analyses and reports, and participate in reviews and meetings.
  • Oversee the Launch System Combined Tests and Launch Campaign qualification tasks.
  • Evaluate change proposals and waivers for electrical ground/board interfaces.
  • Validate and write Electrical Operational Requirements and Specific Test Requests.
  • Write Launch System Electrical definition and justification files.
Requirements
  • A Master or PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant field, with a strong knowledge and experience in electrical systems architectures of a launch system.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in spacecraft project support, particularly related to spacecraft data handling.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems architectures, TTE protocol, main serial data exchange protocols, and end-to-end wired measurement chains.
  • Understanding of main Launch System RF communications, and experience in equipment procurement, sub-systems integration, and testing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, high degree of organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken, and knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
