Job Overview
As a legal writer, the individual will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the consumer mediation strategy for the DGCCRF, which encompasses the legal framework, communication strategies, and relationships with various sectoral offices and decentralized services.
In this role, the writer may also contribute to the ongoing legislative and regulatory updates associated with the revision of Directive 2013/11/EU.
The responsibilities include serving as a rapporteur for the CECMC:
- Reviewing consumer mediator application files for CECMC evaluation, overseeing their activities, and addressing their inquiries;
- Monitoring recognized consumer mediation entities and managing follow-up actions (including drafting and dispatching commission decisions);
- Addressing consumer grievances against recognized mediators;
- Facilitating networking opportunities with mediators through communication and seminars.
The individual may also assist in gathering and analyzing data related to mediator activities. Additionally, they may engage in managing CECMC operations, which includes compiling activity reports and overseeing the renewal of instances.
Working Conditions
CECMC operates as an independent administrative body under the Ministry of Economy.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of administrative or private law, with a particular emphasis on consumer law, alongside exceptional writing capabilities (including drafting reports for the commission, composing notes, and responding to inquiries from central administration).
The position also entails a control function that requires a methodical and meticulous approach.
Monitoring mediator activities necessitates strong interpersonal skills, as it involves regular communication (meetings, phone calls, messaging) with consumer mediators.
Furthermore, the candidate must be comfortable with public speaking, as they will be required to present cases during CECMC sessions, which are attended by 15 members and presided over by a State Council advisor and a Court of Cassation judge.
Lastly, the candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex and demanding caseloads.
