Expert Technical Project Manager (Security)

Overview

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) initiative.
This critical and cross-functional project falls under the purview of CISO Application Security. It aims to implement and establish "Security by Design" principles across the entire Amadeus Engineering Community (EC).

  • Within CPS-SIT-SIP, we support the Engineering Community by securing and facilitating the delivery of strategic, technical, and cross-functional programs across Amadeus.
  • By becoming part of the CPS-SIT-SIP department, you will play a pivotal role in steering the delivery of key Amadeus technical projects and programs, engaging extensively with SAFe trains, and actively participating in this significant transformation, ensuring continuous learning and growth.

SDL Mission:

  • Systematically integrate security throughout the product development lifecycle, utilizing formal checklists, deliverables, and checkpoints at crucial stages.
  • Facilitate the development of software that is inherently protected against cyber threats by embedding security considerations into the development process.
  • Define and implement the SDL methodology, which currently comprises 14 critical touchpoints.

Your Responsibilities as SDL Project Manager (Global Grading GG 11-12):

  • Lead the SDL deployment across the Amadeus Engineering Community (EC) by employing robust project management techniques (planning, monitoring progress, managing risks and changes, reporting, and ensuring effective decision-making).
  • Align SDL deliverables with the overall deployment strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with the project sponsor (CISO Application Security lead - CPS-ES2-SEC) and the SDL Senior Manager (CPS-ES2-SEC-SDL).
  • Engage with project stakeholders, ranging from experts to senior management, throughout the EC.
  • Interact with SAFe roles and trains: RTE, PO, LPM, Business Owners, Architects.
  • Collaborate with security stakeholders: Domain Security Offices (Application and Infrastructure), Security managers, CISO leadership, and ethical hackers.
  • Maximize adoption and engage with all EC unit teams, managers, and directors.
  • Oversee, track, and report on the SDL deployment progress (scores) for all applications/tools across all EC units.
  • Establish annual targets and strategic direction.
  • Ensure that the Vulnerability backlog is monitored according to defined SLAs.
  • Communicate status updates and facilitate decision-making in high-level management forums: Steering Committee, EXD (Engineering Cross Divisions) forum, and dedicated follow-ups with CISO leadership.

Significant challenges lie ahead as we aim to elevate SDL to its next maturity level, enhancing dashboards and security metrics for management, securing the CI/CD toolchain, assessing security risk levels, and collaborating across organizations to actively mitigate these risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Expertise:

  • Master all project management processes and apply the relevant methodologies.
  • Planning: Scope, Cost, Schedule, Quality, Risks.
  • Execution and Monitoring: Define and track dashboards/KPIs/scores, manage risks, drive decisions, oversee the Core Team and relevant large forums, ensure effective communication, and provide regular reporting.

Agile Methodology:

  • Adapt and collaborate with teams/organizations utilizing Agile methodologies.
  • Engage with SAFe trains, working alongside SAFe roles (RTE, PO, Architects, Scrum Master, PM, etc.) and assume the EPIC Owner role when necessary.

Soft Skills:

  • Exhibit strong communication, leadership, presentation, and influencing abilities.

Technical Skills:

  • Possess knowledge of security, vulnerabilities, Amadeus IT (products/applications/tools/development processes and environments), and CI/CD concepts.
