Saint-Gobain Abrasives R&D team is seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer for Coated Abrasives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading product development projects in the area of Coated Abrasives to support business growth
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and validate business cases and technical approaches
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and defining associated tasks and milestones
  • Solving complex technical problems through literature search, scientific knowledge, and hands-on experiments
  • Collaborating with plant managers and production managers to industrialize new products and support process improvements
  • Developing and improving products, processes, and performance while reducing costs
  • Staying aware of new technology applications and competitive uses
  • Capturing and protecting intellectual property through proper procedures
  • Maintaining awareness of competitive IP positioning and understanding strategic relevance
  • Collaborating with global teams on new developments and technologies
  • Identifying, evaluating, and integrating novel analysis techniques
  • Specifying and implementing new equipment and capabilities

Requirements

  • PhD degree in a scientific discipline or MSc with 3+ years of experience
  • Proven project management experience
  • An inquiring mind, intense curiosity, and strong desire to innovate
  • Proven experience as a project leader with good supervisory and teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to think critically and organize tasks autonomously
  • Demonstrate open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility
  • Leadership competencies and willingness to grow as a leader
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Gate Process methodology and utilization
  • Familiarity with statistical tools, data analysis, and drawing conclusions
  • Fluent in English and French (spoken and written)
