Position Overview

Reporting to the Supply Chain Operations Director for Europe, the Director of Supply Chain Operations for Mid-Europe is accountable for the following regions: France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. This role is pivotal in:

  • Delivering business value through effective, timely, and compliant supply chain execution to clients. This includes oversight of all warehousing, distribution, and logistics processes, ensuring adherence to established service levels and Organon Quality standards.
  • Managing the operational and financial aspects of the 3PL in-market warehousing and distribution operations, including budget oversight and expenditure control.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Supply Chain Operations Specialists focused on supply execution and customer service.
  • Directing the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes at the cluster level, while managing a diverse team involved in demand planning and market distribution.
  • Acting as the primary Supply Chain Operations contact for Organon Commercial Organization partners in the market, collaborating with various stakeholders including Demand Fulfillment, Global/Regional logistics services, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, and Environment, Health & Safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Senior Specialists, Specialists, and/or Associate Specialists.
  • Oversee objectives setting, planning, performance management, professional development, training, coaching, and recruitment of team members, while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment that reflects Organon's cultural values.
  • Provide effective oversight of all 3PL operations related to importation, receipt, storage, transportation, and distribution of Organon products within the designated territory.
  • Offer leadership in market-level Demand Planning and IBP processes, ensuring the Demand Planning team delivers a high-quality demand signal.
  • Ensure compliance with GxP, Organon Quality standards, policies, and local regulations, while collaborating with In-Market Quality and Regulatory Affairs to identify and report compliance risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, in partnership with the 3PL and other functions within Supply Chain Management.
  • Achieve financial objectives through accurate forecasting, budget management, expenditure control, and variance analysis, while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure financial compliance and inventory control, including SOX controls and inventory reconciliation.
  • Serve as a key contact for the local Organon Commercial Organization leadership team regarding Supply Chain Management matters, fostering strong relationships with local functions such as Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, and Customer Service.

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Science or equivalent is required, preferably in business, engineering, or a scientific field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Customer Service, Logistics, or Quality, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry or consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of Distribution and Logistics systems and processes.
  • Experience in managing and negotiating with Third Party Logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IBP processes and Demand Planning.
  • Familiarity with GxP environments.
  • Proven people management skills and experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management, teamwork, and collaboration abilities.
  • Proactive approach with strong initiative and communication skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking capabilities with problem-solving skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong customer focus.
  • Business and financial acumen to understand the broader impacts across the supply chain.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with proficiency in French preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with SAP Hana or other ERP systems.
