We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Network Engineering Specialist to join our team at Serco Group plc.
Main Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures;
- Develop and maintain network configurations, including routing, switching, and security protocols;
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network issues;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network infrastructure meets business requirements;
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements to network infrastructure;
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including technical specifications and diagrams;
- Participate in the development and implementation of network security policies and procedures;
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure network infrastructure meets business requirements;
- Perform network capacity planning and optimization;
- Develop and maintain network monitoring and management systems;
- Stay up-to-date with industry certifications and training to maintain expertise in network engineering;
- Minimum 4 years of relevant education (master or equivalent) after secondary school;
- Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience in network engineering, preferably in the following fields: DNS and IP administration, LAN protocols, TCP/IP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, and/or EIGRP, WAN network topologies and hardware, network management tools;
- Advanced knowledge of network configurations, network security, and monitoring and management of network security devices;
- Ability to perform network capacity planning and optimization;
- Very good knowledge of network design, network evolutions, and network monitoring;
- Ability to understand common network topologies and cabling technologies and standards;
- Network (Cisco Certified Network Professional/CCNP or equivalent) and IT Service Management/ITSM qualifications (IT Infrastructure Library/ITIL-ITILV3ISO/IEC 20000 or equivalent) would be advantageous;
- Ability to actively participate in meetings, very good communication/presentation skills;
- Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability, and experience in working in a team;
