The Role

We are in search of a dedicated backend engineer who is enthusiastic about solution architecture, Java programming, and operational support to join our dynamic engineering team at Symphony. This team plays a vital role in implementing compliance features that are essential for our clientele.

In this position, you will be tasked with delivering both functional and technical features within the core Symphony backends, emphasizing maintainability and scalability.
As a backend engineer, your involvement will span the entire backend lifecycle, from the design phase to production deployment, while considering the specific requirements of our industry.

You will actively engage in significant backend reengineering initiatives, which include substantial code modifications, as well as enhancements in database management, infrastructure, and CI/CD processes. Each phase of these projects will be executed in a multi-cloud environment with a strong DevOps orientation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Java-based backend systems and their interactions with other Symphony components.
  • Develop and support automation and tools necessary for building, deploying, and operating Symphony deliverables in a public cloud environment, adhering to a GitOps approach.
  • Collaborate with site reliability engineers to address infrastructure needs.
  • Engage constructively and collaboratively in backend design and code review processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with over 3 years of experience in Java server-side development.
  • Proven ability to work in production environments with reliability constraints.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm is a significant advantage.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative global environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a solid understanding of best practices for building, testing, deploying, and monitoring software.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
