The Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer who will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of Symphony's microservices. This position involves working within a team dedicated to delivering real-time events in the Symphony ecosystem. A solid understanding of cloud architecture is essential, particularly in areas such as scalability, distributed systems, event streaming, and database management. Familiarity with a devops model, especially CI/CD and Gitops methodologies, is also required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, encompassing planning, development, deployment, and maintenance within an agile framework.
  • Design, implement, and sustain software applications utilizing Golang, with a strong appreciation for Java.
  • Collaborate proactively with various teams across Symphony.
  • Develop and maintain automation and tools necessary for building, deploying, and operating Symphony's deliverables in a public cloud environment, adhering to a Gitops approach.
  • Assist in meeting infrastructure requirements by working closely with site reliability engineers.
  • Contribute constructively to backend design and code review processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with over 7 years of experience in microservices development (Java server-side and/or Golang).
  • Profound knowledge of cloud architecture.
  • Familiarity with database systems, ideally Redis.
  • Experience with Kafka is a plus.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes and Helm is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative global environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a solid grasp of best practices for software development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Capability to operate in a production environment with reliability constraints.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
