Research OpportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Imagine-Institut Pasteur Unit of Heart Morphogenesis. The successful candidate will contribute to our research on asymmetric heart morphogenesis, exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying left-right patterning and its impact on congenital heart defects.
Our research aims to elucidate the basic mechanisms of asymmetric heart morphogenesis, uncover novel genetic players, and explore their relationship to congenital heart defects in patients. We use mouse models to investigate the molecular cascade breaking bilateral symmetry and how asymmetry is sensed by organ-specific precursor cells to control organogenesis.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on asymmetric heart morphogenesis using mouse models and cutting-edge technologies in omics, genetics, and quantitative 3D imaging.
- Contribute to the development of novel genetic models and the analysis of transcriptomic datasets to identify novel asymmetric factors.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary experts in developmental biology, computational science, and pediatric cardiology to advance our understanding of heart morphogenesis.
- PhD in Life Sciences with a strong background in developmental biology.
- Previous research experience in molecular biology or genetics, with a focus on animal models.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work rigorously and creatively.
The postdoctoral position is funded for 3 years by the FRM and offers a vibrant multidisciplinary and international research environment with state-of-the-art technological platforms, located in downtown Paris.
