We are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to spearhead the development of next-generation automotive products and technologies. This role involves overseeing a dedicated Systems Engineering Team within our Electrification Center of Excellence (eCOE) and collaborating closely with the Global System Engineering Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a local team of 8 to 10 engineers focused on developing advanced powertrain solutions for automotive, industrial, and commercial sectors.
- Facilitate the establishment and execution of systems engineering processes, ensuring compliance with automotive standards such as ASPICE and ISO 26262.
- Act as a key liaison between Systems Engineering and cross-functional teams, including Product Line, Hardware, Mechanical, Software, and Manufacturing.
- Conduct internal design reviews to ensure technical and process compliance, enhancing design maturity at each development stage.
- Define and communicate the vision, goals, and strategy for the Systems Engineering team.
- Manage team resources effectively, including tools, budget, and personnel, to meet objectives.
- Monitor team performance and support the professional development of team members.
- Foster a positive team culture, providing mentorship and project support.
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in automotive product development, with at least 5 years in systems engineering.
- Proven track record in leading engineering teams, either directly or in a matrix environment.
- Strong understanding of automotive powertrain architecture, including electric motors and control systems.
- Familiarity with automotive system requirements, risk analysis, and V-cycle development processes.
- Experience with in-vehicle communication protocols such as CAN and Ethernet.
- Solid analytical skills with a background in powertrain-related physics.
- Prior experience with requirements management and system architecture tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a willingness to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Background in the automotive industry, particularly with Tier 1 suppliers or OEMs.
- Certifications in Design for Six Sigma and automotive electrical component validation.
