Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Geoscientist Researcher to join our team in Massy, France. As a Seismic Reservoir Characterization Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing innovative stochastic seismic inversion methods for CO2 storage site characterization.
About the Role
The successful candidate will participate in the theoretical development and implementation of a prototype for stochastic seismic inversion using SPDE (stochastic partial differential equations) approach. You will work on developing and testing this innovative methodology, first on small volumes of synthetic data and then on real data to validate its application and understand the impact of different parameters and limitations.
Responsibilities
- Implement stochastic seismic inversion methods for CO2 storage site characterization
- Develop and test the SPDE approach for stochastic seismic inversion
- Collaborate with external R&D partners to integrate data from different sources and quantify uncertainty
- Work on developing and testing the prototype for stochastic seismic inversion
- Contribute to the validation of the application and understanding of the impact of different parameters and limitations
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have a last year of Engineer School or Masters degree with strong skills in Mathematics, Physics, and Numerical computation. You should also have knowledge of Python and C++, as well as analytical approach to problem solving and collaborating with external R&D partners.
Additional Information
- Location: Massy, France
- Contract: Full-time, fixed term
- Salary: €45,000 - €55,000 per annum, depending on experience
