Mechanical Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Altrad in the nuclear industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and maintenance of mechanical systems within our nuclear facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and Development: Design and develop mechanical systems and components for nuclear facilities, including reactors, piping systems, and support structures.
- System Analysis and Optimization: Conduct analyses to assess the performance and reliability of mechanical systems, and optimize system designs to improve efficiency, safety, and longevity.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Develop and implement maintenance programs for mechanical systems, and troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure continuous operation of mechanical systems.
- Project Management: Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all mechanical engineering activities comply with national and international nuclear safety regulations and standards.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for mechanical systems, and implement safety protocols and procedures to protect personnel and equipment.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to other engineering teams and departments, and assist in the evaluation and selection of mechanical equipment and materials.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in mechanical engineering, and stay current with advancements in mechanical engineering and nuclear industry standards.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng)) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably within the nuclear industry or a similarly regulated environment.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in mechanical design software and tools, ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure, and strong project management skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Willingness to travel to various sites and facilities as needed.
