Manufacturing Process Engineer F/H

We are seeking an Advanced Technology Process Engineer to join our team at Automotive Cells Company (ACC). As a key member of our process innovation team, you will be responsible for developing and industrializing new processes, particularly calandering for electrode manufacturing.
Your primary objectives will be to design and develop electrode manufacturing processes, focusing on calandering for various chemistries. You will define key process parameters to achieve targeted properties of the final electrode, including defect, porosity, and loading. Additionally, you will conduct DOE/experimental plans to determine trends and tendencies between process parameters and product specifications.
You will work closely with the mixing/coating team to ensure efficient process development of the calandering step, including KPIs and process windows. You will also collaborate with the Simulation Team to develop a model of calandering from lab scale to gigafactory scale. Furthermore, you will ensure process scale-up in partnership with Process Manufacturing Engineering Team and demonstrate the process's economic added value at a gigafactory scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop electrode manufacturing processes, focusing on calandering for various chemistries.
- Define key process parameters to achieve targeted properties of the final electrode.
- Conduct DOE/experimental plans to determine trends and tendencies between process parameters and product specifications.
- Work closely with the mixing/coating team to ensure efficient process development of the calandering step.
- Collaborate with the Simulation Team to develop a model of calandering from lab scale to gigafactory scale.
- Ensure process scale-up in partnership with Process Manufacturing Engineering Team.
- Demonstrate the process's economic added value at a gigafactory scale.
Requirements:
- Expertise in calandering and optionally mixing and coating.
- Experience in slurry/painting-ink mixing/formulation, rubber calandering, or related field.
- Experience in electrode manufacturing.
- Experience in rheological analysis (fluids behavior, viscosity, dry content, etc.).
- Product & Process approach.
- Skills in Process development methodology (PFMEA, Functional analysis, DOEs).
Qualifications:
- Master/Engineering degree type in Chemical engineering/Chemical processing/Plastic industry/Chemical formulation (Ink, paint, etc.), material science.
