Context and Benefits of the Position

Within the framework of a partnership between Inria teams COATI and DIANA, and the French National Research Agency (ANR), PEPR 5G, we are seeking a PhD student to work on a research project focused on energy-efficient QoE-aware beyond 5G future mobile networks.

Research Project

The project aims to develop a methodology to collect data needed to estimate the Quality of Experience (QoE) in beyond 5G networks. This will involve experimenting with an application in various network setups and loads, and building models relating resource utilization to network traffic using a machine learning and data-driven approach. The goal is to find optimal configurations of both network and services that lead to the best possible gain: minimizing energy consumption without considerably losing in terms of end-user quality of experience.

Collaboration and Experimentation

The recruited person will be in connection with Chadi Barakat, Frédéric Giroire, Joanna Moulierac, and Thierry Turletti. Experimentation will be carried out on local platforms R2Lab and SophiaNode, and the upcoming Slices European platform.

Requirements and Skills

The ideal candidate should have strong networking skills, programming skills, and experimentation experience. Proficiency in English is required.

Benefits and Remuneration

The position offers a gross salary of 2100€ brut per month (year 1 & 2) and 2190€ brut per month (year 3). The recruited person will also benefit from subsidized meals, partial reimbursement of public transport costs, and leave.
