OPERATIONAL RISK OVERSIGHT
The Operational Risk Division is tasked with creating and executing a standardized framework for identifying, measuring, and monitoring operational risks throughout the organization. This position within the Operational Risk Coverage team entails providing second-line oversight for the Global Banking and Markets sector, which includes trading operations and traditional investment banking activities.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a strong desire to learn. Familiarity with managing extensive data sets using tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Alteryx will be advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate the operational risk event management framework and oversee data collection, including comprehensive reviews of significant incidents.
- Analyze data trends to pinpoint key and emerging risks.
- Evaluate new business initiatives and acquisitions proposed by the Global Banking and Markets division.
- Develop product and transaction expertise to critically assess the business's risk and control self-evaluations.
- Utilize basic financial models to estimate loss projections for stress testing evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create metrics that quantify divisions' exposure across various risk categories.
- Contribute to the enhancement of operational risk methodologies and practices.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and business leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
- Strong technical and quantitative skills.
- Basic knowledge of the products offered by Global Banking and Markets.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, proactive, and independent.
- Proficient in handling and analyzing large data sets.
- Strong organizational capabilities.
- Team-oriented, inquisitive, and enthusiastic.
