NES Fircroft is collaborating with a prominent player in the oil and gas sector seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer for a significant project. This role is structured as a renewable contract and offers a flexible work schedule with remote work options.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the issuance, assessment, and endorsement of approximately 1,000 technical documents within the Civil discipline.
- Implement engineering standards and ensure quality assurance in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, promoting sound engineering practices and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all Project HSE requirements, fostering a safety-first culture throughout Civil design activities.
- Review deliverables focusing on Geotechnical and Hydraulics, including detailed engineering for underground structures, roadways, drainage systems, and concrete constructions.
- Provide expert guidance on Construction Material selection, testing, and approval processes.
- Collaborate with the Contractor's Civil Engineering site team to ensure effective coordination and resolution of issues.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with Civil design operations, working alongside Process Safety to ensure a secure working environment.
- Coordinate Contractor planning and execution, emphasizing Civil engineering activities while being familiar with multidisciplinary engineering processes.
- Assist the Civil & Structural Lead in maintaining adherence to the technical aspects of the EPC contract during execution.
- During site operations, respond promptly to site inquiries and unexpected technical challenges, ensuring timely resolution of punch list items and overseeing on-site testing and equipment installation.
Work Environment
- Positioned in a dynamic engineering phase.
- Potential relocation to site during construction activities upon completion of the engineering phase.
Accountabilities
- Ensure effective design implementation for civil structures, including drainage systems, culverts, roadways, and underground networks.
- Lead the execution of Civil Works within the Civil Structural Engineering team, integrated into the broader Civil, Structural, and Marine Engineering organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Civil, Hydraulic, or Transportation Engineering.
- Fluency in English.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in the design and execution of Oil and Gas or large infrastructure projects.
- Thorough understanding of relevant regulatory standards in international contexts.
- Extensive knowledge of standard engineering methodologies, technologies, and computerized design techniques.
- Experience working in a collaborative project team, adaptable to both design and operational environments, with the ability to adjust to varying work conditions.
