ROLE OF HSE SPECIALIST ENGINEER

Integrating into the Team

The Project QHSER Department comprises 30 highly skilled and diverse professionals. Our team empowers the organization to effectively plan and execute projects while maintaining the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and Risk (QHSER). The position is based in a dynamic environment, reporting to the Manager of the Project QHSER Team.

Achieving Success

To thrive in the Project QHSER Department, part of the Turnkey & Offshore Project Execution section, you should possess experience in marine and/or land-based industries. A background in project-driven companies with a focus on managing HSE aspects is essential. Your experience may stem from any engineering discipline or project/line management. A passion for HSE is crucial for success in this role, as training and guidance will be provided for specific tasks. You should be comfortable taking on a managerial role to ensure quality and safety in projects.

Your Impact

As a Project HSE Manager, you will collaborate within a project team to facilitate all HSE aspects from tendering to project completion. Typical disciplines involved in Nexans EPCI projects include engineering, cable manufacturing, testing, and installation. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and implementing HSE activities, setting HSE objectives, creating the Project HSE Plan, and managing the Risk Management Procedure. These tasks will be effectively communicated throughout all project phases. Responsibilities typically include managing HSE plans, project reporting, incident management, conducting audits, risk management, change management, knowledge management, and overseeing suppliers, subcontractors, installation sites, and vessels, ensuring compliance with Nexans HSE standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

  • A university degree (MSc, MBA, BSc, or similar), preferably in engineering or HSE discipline (relevant experience and/or HSE mindset can compensate).
  • HSE experience from marine and/or land-based industries is preferred but not mandatory.
  • We encourage recent graduates to apply, as internal training will be provided.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to implement and uphold QHSER requirements.
  • Proficiency in Norwegian (preferred) and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a team player, and effective communication abilities.
