About Spark Cleantech
Spark Cleantech is an innovative start-up focused on developing sustainable hydrogen production technologies, achieving zero-CO2 emissions while utilizing significantly less electrical power compared to traditional electrolyzers. Our proprietary method, nanopulsed plasmalysis, employs non-thermal plasmas to extract hydrogen from (bio)methane, generating solid carbon as a by-product. We are currently advancing our CH-5 project, a pre-industrial demonstrator that integrates five plasmalysis modules, and we seek talented engineers to support our scaling efforts.
As a vital member of our team, your primary role will involve the commissioning and testing of our systems, along with contributing to the design of future units:
- Quickly assume responsibility for the deployment of the CH-5 demonstrator, collaborating closely with Spark's R&D team, our integrators and suppliers, and the operational teams at client sites.
- Conduct the commissioning of the CH-5 unit and oversee the initial testing phase, addressing any field test challenges, preparing technical documentation, and proposing enhancements to optimize the process.
- In the subsequent phases, partner with our industrial director and integrators to conceptualize the commercial pilot, establishing and validating standard equipment with an emphasis on downstream purification and overall plant efficiency.
- Maintain and update the standard design documentation (P&ID, HMB calculations, etc.) for the CH-5 unit and future iterations.
You will report directly to our Industrial Director and engage daily with Spark's R&D team, as well as our network of suppliers and integrators.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess:
- Extensive experience as a commissioning engineer, with a proven track record in field operations, particularly in environments with gas and electrical hazards.
- A solid background in process engineering, including proficiency in engineering processes, safety assessments (HAZOP), and familiarity with process simulation tools (e.g., ASPEN), along with knowledge of automation systems (PC/PLC) as an added advantage.
- Strong time-management skills, reliability, and a commitment to safety, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
- A collaborative spirit, eager to learn and share knowledge within a multidisciplinary team, coupled with excellent communication abilities.
- A passion for tackling one of the most significant challenges of our era: the decarbonization of industry.
- Fluency in French is essential.
