Facility Safety Specialist

Newrest is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Safety Coordinator to join its team at the Houston hub unit.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility and ramp operations, training and auditing all safety processes, and coordinating facility safety training for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure all personnel perform their jobs in a safe manner, in line with company policies and regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Audit the safe performance of all equipment within the facility, such as high pile storage, forklifts, dish machines, cooking equipment, and chilling equipment.
- Responsible for LOTO (Lock Out/ Tag Out) process where applicable.
- Perform ramp safety audits as needed as a secondary function.
- Coordinate facility safety training for all employees.
- Ensure all personnel are properly trained to use any equipment operated within the facility, such as dish machines.
- Able to identify threats and hazards throughout the facility and follow through with corrective measures in collaboration with building maintenance personnel and other unit leadership.
- Online maintenance and tracking of all facility safety initiatives and training records.
- Manage daily tasks effectively and communicate to leadership via shift reports.
- Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
- Availability to work any schedule, such as overnight, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication, verbal and written communication skills required.
- High school diploma required.
- Previous experience in facility safety preferred.
- Knowledge of food production facilities is a plus.
- Must possess a valid Driver License.
- Must be able to pass airport security clearance and tests SIDA badge.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification or two years relevant experience.
- Knowledge of airport safety regulations preferred.
