Job Summary

The GIS Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting various departments within the Emili Project Team, focusing on geographical information systems and databases for multiple sites in France. This position requires a strong background in GIS and geospatial engineering, with experience in creating, using, and sharing geographic system-based databases, files, and maps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and manage geographic system-based databases, files, and maps
  • Compile, validate, and publish geographical information from internal resources, engineering suppliers, and public entities
  • Develop and export maps with various layers, including cadastral information, monitoring points, environmentally protected areas, and existing and planned infrastructure
  • Validate and update topographies, surveys, and elevation models
  • Convert GIS files to CAD and CAD to SIG formats
  • Extract views from GIS for permitting applications, environmental studies, hazard studies, and discussions with public infrastructure operators and local stakeholders
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of a common GIS within Imerys
  • Exhibit excellent safety standards in all areas of work
  • Contribute to the deployment of Imerys Industrial Improvement (I-Cube) in mines
Requirements
  • Geospatial/Mining/Geology Engineering degree with a GIS qualification and a minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Proficiency in ESRI GIS software, QGIS, and CAD software
  • Experience in project management and/or implementation, topography, land and aerial survey, and technical skills
  • Language proficiency in English and French at a professional level
