Job Summary

Vida Connected Specialists is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Research and Development to lead our team in developing a revolutionary catheter technology. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of R&D engineers to design, develop, and commercialize a catheter kit from concept to industrialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of R&D engineers to develop a catheter kit, from concept to clinical trials and production/manufacturing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders to ensure successful product development
  • Develop and implement design controls, validation and verification processes, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA and EU regulations
  • Mentor and lead team members to achieve career growth and development

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in catheter development or Class III or Class IIa medical device development
  • Specific experience in developing catheters/microcatheters or similar devices, from early design stage to clinical trials and production/manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of R&D processes, including design controls, V&V, risk mitigation, and documentation
  • Experience leading or mentoring team members is advantageous

Qualifications

  • Masters or BSc in Mechanical or Material Engineering or similar
  • Biomedical Engineering is ideal; Interventional neuro is a plus
