Lead Seed Pathology Research Specialist

The International Potato Center (CIP) is in search of a dedicated Lead Seed Pathology Research Specialist to contribute to an innovative project focused on enhancing local seed potato production.
Position Overview
This role will be primarily located in West Bengal. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the pathology and quality of seeds within the project's framework, working closely with the Project Manager.
Core Responsibilities:
The individual in this position will be tasked with:
Managing and directing research initiatives related to seed pathology, ensuring alignment with project goals.Designing and implementing experiments aimed at assessing seed health and resistance to diseases.Conducting thorough data analysis, generating comprehensive research reports, and identifying significant patterns and trends.Collaborating with colleagues across various departments to maintain project integrity.Providing mentorship and oversight to junior researchers, technicians, and interns.Publishing research findings in reputable journals and presenting at academic conferences.Complying with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.Qualifications:
What are we looking for?
A degree in Plant Pathology, Seed Technology, or a closely related field.At least 5 years of experience in agricultural research, with a focus on seed pathology.A proven history of research publications.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional communication and leadership skills.Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi, and Bengali.A readiness to travel frequently within the region.-
