Furthermore, this venture seeks to serve the entire automotive sector (OEMs and Tier-n) as well as other industries wherever feasible.

This division operates under the Faurecia Interiors System and is headquartered in Lyon, France.

The Manager of Financial Strategy and Business Modelling is tasked with overseeing the month-end closing procedures across all operations and developing and modeling the business strategies for targeted markets during the remaining periods. This role involves creating reports for management to monitor performance trends and associated action plans. The manager is responsible for constructing the business plan (P&L and Cash Flow) by gathering critical data points such as market insights, volume forecasts, geographical considerations, pricing structures, workforce requirements, manufacturing expenses, capital expenditures/amortization, energy consumption, and working capital needs, which will ultimately inform the long-term strategic direction with actionable insights. In collaboration with relevant Product Line Directors/Managers, the manager will engage in brainstorming sessions to identify business partners and investors or explore alternative methods to secure the business and minimize upfront investments when necessary. Additionally, the manager will prepare presentations to advocate for the case to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare month-end closing presentations and action plans for senior management
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Division's strategy, particularly through the annual Strategic Planning process and cross-functional strategic initiatives (product strategy & portfolio expansion, market entry strategy, etc.)
  • Assist Product Line Management in modeling financial forecasts for business and technology partnerships, including acquisitions and joint ventures, in collaboration with the business unit and the group, while also participating in the creation of effective ecosystems
  • Analyze competitor behaviors and product offerings
  • Develop adaptable business plans (P&L and Cash Flow Statement) that disclose all underlying assumptions to allow for adjustments as insights into the value chain evolve
  • Accurately define market pricing and associated margins
  • Evaluate research and pre-development costs and cash flow equations
  • Assess the conversion of operating margins into operational cash and the related financing strategies
  • Support the Funding Manager by providing necessary financial projections for public funding applications (ADEME, BPI, etc.)
  • Conduct financial analyses (IRR, NPV, ROCE, etc.) to support business decisions
  • Prepare sensitivity analyses
  • Regularly update underlying assumptions as well as risks and opportunities to enhance margins and cash flow equations
  • Create comprehensive presentations tailored for Board members
  • Communicate and clarify assumptions and results with various stakeholders: Senior management, Sales & Programs, Product Lines, Purchasing, HR, Finance, and Strategy

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Business School or Engineering background with a Finance degree or a Master's Degree in Finance
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience, preferably including roles in big four transaction services, business analysis, investment banking, and/or strategy consulting with a strong emphasis on growth strategy projects
  • A comprehensive understanding of Financial KPIs (IRR, NPV, ROIC, WCR, etc.) and the ability to transition from P&L to Cash
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach
  • The capability to manage uncertainty and withstand stakeholder pressure
  • A willingness to shape one's own responsibilities
  • The ability to devise and implement effective changes to enhance performance
  • Strong communication, analytical, and synthesis skills
  • Business acumen with the ability to identify business opportunities through a factual lens
  • A keen interest in innovation, services, and products
  • Fluency in two languages, including English
  • Experience in the automotive/mobility/energy sector is advantageous
