Senior Business Consultant

Our team has an immediate opening for a Senior Business Consultant to join and lead our System Engineering high-end consulting practice from a remote office in the US. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Aerospace and Defense industry, developing and managing complex system models using industry-standard tools and methodologies. This role will be focused on partnering with clients in the Seattle/Bellevue, WA area, but can be hired in a remote capacity with travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze system requirements, develop system architectures, and ensure the successful integration of systems across various projects.
- Apply excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for driving innovation in system engineering practices to help guide potential clients.
- Lead diverse teams with strategic thinking, critical analysis, and effective translation into actionable plans. Foster collaboration and recognize individual and team contributions.
- Mentor team members, recognizing and nurturing their talents. Provide honest and constructive feedback, fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and reflection.
- Possess a strong understanding of business strategy, operations, financial analysis, and organizational dynamics. Navigate ambiguity and leverage contextual technical knowledge to set direction in complex environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.
- Understand and articulate innovation theories and processes, driving value through technology enablement and inspiring innovation across stakeholders. Seamlessly integrate technology and business implications to enhance competitiveness and drive value throughout products, services, and operations.
- Codify and communicate value concepts internally and externally, aligning with enterprise objectives and engaging cross-functional contributors. Evaluate architectures, develop courses of action, and operationalize plans with a focus on delivering differentiated competitive value.
- Champion digitally-connected model-centric practices, leveraging model-based approaches for acquisition success and accelerated innovation. Drive mission engineering enablement based on outcome-driven innovation concepts, enhancing capabilities to counter traditional and emerging threats effectively.
- Provide guidance on enterprise architecture development, elaboration, and evaluation, leveraging industry frameworks and standards. Develop digital and model curation practices to support architecture planning and modeling, influencing complex transformation systems and enterprise accountabilities.
- Understand solution alternatives and implications, particularly in digital systems technologies. Articulate key aspects to diverse stakeholders, facilitating alignment with brand structures and roadmaps to drive business objectives.
- Apply knowledge of architecture principles, patterns, and standards to evaluate architecture solutions against deployment contexts. Analyze and assess alternatives, aligning with enterprise architecture and business motivations.
- Demonstrate a holistic understanding of systems engineering and model-based approaches, catalyzing systematic execution of internal and client teams. Ensure alignment with industry standards and foster collaboration across disciplines to deliver digital engineering business outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or MBA preferred.
- 15-20 years related experience is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in organizational change management, with a focus on driving successful transformations in large organizations.
- Strong understanding of model-based systems engineering principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in a consulting environment is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of the enterprise business motivation model (EBMM) and its role and structure in business transformation.
- Must have true understanding of intimate relationship among the System Engineering, Program Management, Configuration Management and Contract Management as well as the dependency upon the design and specialty engineering disciplines in order to be able to deliver on the promise of digital engineering business outcomes.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally.
Additional desired success factors:
- Experience with teaching or delivering technical curriculum/training.
- INCOSE Certification (ASEP or CSEP).
- One or more levels of OCSMP certifications, one or more Architecture Certifications.
Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $160,000 and $235,000, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
