As a Vessel Performance Analyst at SOFREN GROUP, you will play a key role in collecting and understanding business needs and monitoring initiatives on vessel performance. Your mission will be to connect vessels by sending high-frequency data from vessel sensors to be analyzed on shore. This data will be united with other data sources to make performance analytics of the fleet.

The main focus of the project is to develop tools and dashboards for data analysis and decision-making aid based on three axes:

  • Ship Performance Monitoring
  • Predictive Maintenance
  • Nautical Safety
Responsibilities

You will be part of the performance analytics team and your tasks will include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing vessel performance data, including fuel consumption, speed, power, and other operational parameters.
  • Identifying and investigating performance issues, deviations, or anomalies and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborating with vessel superintendents, engineers, and technical expert teams to gather performance data and ensure accurate and timely actions and reporting.
  • Generating performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal or external stakeholders, management, and clients.
  • Performing trend analysis to identify operational patterns and potential areas for improvement, using data science tools and/or collaborating with the Data Science team.
Profile and Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, naval architecture, maritime studies, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
  • Knowledge of vessel operations, propulsion systems, and maritime regulations, good physical understanding of vessel performance-related subjects.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools, data analysis software, and statistical and ML modeling techniques.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office and good knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, MATLAB, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to non-technical teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency measures and environmental regulations in the maritime industry is an advantage.
