AVNIR ENGINEERING is a leading provider of high-tech equipment and solutions for critical missions and defense and security sectors. We are seeking an experienced Electronics Component Procurement Specialist to join our team in France.
Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electronics Component Procurement Specialist to manage the procurement of electronic components for our products. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and sourcing components, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of components to meet our production needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze electronic components to identify those that are obsolete or nearing obsolescence
- Propose and validate alternative components in collaboration with development and production teams
- Ensure compatibility of alternative components with technical specifications and production processes
- Update Bill of Materials (BOM) regularly to reflect changes to components
- Maintain and update the component catalog to ensure a precise and usable database
- Develop and implement a component obsolescence management process to anticipate and manage risks associated with component obsolescence
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain information on component availability and obsolescence predictions
- Document processes and decisions related to component obsolescence management
- Significant experience in electronics component procurement (minimum 5 years)
- Experience in obsolescence management in an industrial or production context is an asset
- Competence in updating BOM and managing component catalogs
- Ability to formalize and deploy a component obsolescence management process
