Purpose of the Role:

• Overseeing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) activities and deliverables within a specific Mechanical Domain for projects, ensuring adherence to Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) commitments.

• Implementing relevant Mechanical Domain guidelines, processes, and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountable for:

• Executing 3D modeling, design annotations, and 2D deliverables while adhering to QCD commitments and Metier regulations.

• Creating and managing allocated volumes and interfaces for subsystems/components within the Digital Mock-Up.

• Conducting Detailed Design for internal subsystems.

• Completing attributes for each component in the Digital Mock-Up (naming, material specifications, Fire & Smoke compliance, etc.)

• Ensuring the integrity of the digital mock-up (no clashes, etc.) and verifying compliance with specifications (allocated volumes, weight, interfaces, etc.) within the assigned scope.

• Preparing and documenting Mechanical Domain Design Reviews.

• Updating the Digital Mock-Up in response to Change Requests.

• Assessing the Design Quality of CADs and subcontractors.

• Performing stack-up analysis.

• Compiling the Bill of Materials.

Responsible for:

• Planning and directing Mechanical Domain activities and deliverables for the assigned project area, considering applicable instructions/processes and specific customer requirements.

• Ensuring quality of Mechanical Domain deliverables and their acceptance by the customer (internal or external) within agreed timelines.

• Managing the production of deliverables in line with planning targets for the Mechanical Domain.

• Designing products in accordance with project specifications (performance, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.).

• Preparing and documenting Mechanical Domain Design Reviews according to project timelines and tracking outstanding actions.

• Verifying compliance with allocated volumes/interfaces (no clashes) in internal designs.

• Addressing Mechanical issues within the assigned project area.

• Reporting on the progress of Mechanical Domain activities and notifying relevant management of any issues that may affect QCD commitments.

• Ensuring compliance with requirements and mechanical interfaces for subsystems/equipment (allocated volume, weight, location, etc.)

• Analyzing the impact of change requests on the assigned area and implementing changes as approved.

• Validating relevant Mechanical Domain deliverables and ensuring adherence to planning.

Contributor for:

• Providing quotations for engineering work packages upon request.

• Defining the Project Mechanical Decomposition (PBS).

• Assisting Sourcing, Industrialization, and Manufacturing teams during production ramp-up.

• Collaborating with the Mechanical Domain Leadership for ongoing improvements (including RoE).
