Marine Engineering Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

Ensure that all engineering assistance provided in the project or bid aligns with the Client's expectations as well as all relevant codes, regulations, and standards. Oversee the engineering resources allocated to projects or bids as designated. Collaborate with the Project/Bid Manager or Senior/Lead Engineer regarding any deviations from engineering and contractual guidelines. Execute engineering tasks and documentation punctually to meet Client and project/bid specifications. Develop optimal technical solutions utilizing available DeepOcean resources in response to client requirements. Coordinate with the Engineering team as necessary to support Commercial and Project Operations in the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage with the engineering team comprising Engineers, subcontractors, and/or consultants on a daily basis for projects, bids, or studies. Contribute to the delivery of commercially and technically optimized solutions that align with client expectations and are fit for purpose. Conduct engineering activities in accordance with the Engineering Procedure safely and accurately. Assist in the planning and execution of marine operations. Participate in offshore operations as required as part of the offshore team. Undertake tasks assigned by the Line Manager or Project Manager. Organize mobilization and offshore operations as directed within key locations and worksites. Maintain close communication with superiors to ensure clients receive timely documentation and updates on progress. Develop and enhance procedures and project documentation. Share and demonstrate specialized knowledge with colleagues. Collaborate with HSEQS to ensure all project/bid-specific HSEQS requirements are fulfilled, and all necessary documentation is completed.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Assigned tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively in accordance with contractual obligations. Project achieves the anticipated level of revenue and profit margin. Commitment to on-the-job training. Provide engineering support to colleagues to enhance overall knowledge within the engineering department. Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Higher Education Degree/Master/Bachelor (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or science discipline or extensive and company-assessed experience in the field. At least 3 years of relevant industry experience. Membership in a recognized Industry Engineering organization. Experience in similar roles within the international subsea market. Familiarity with subsea structures and/or vessels and equipment within SURF, Decommissioning, and IRM sectors or equivalent. Planning and execution of marine operations according to industry standards. Experience with ROV and subsea operations.
