We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Engineer to join our team at SGS, a global leader in inspection, testing, and certification. As a Robotics Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building robotics applications for our bioanalytical laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Automation Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of automation process and technology improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Automated Workflow Design: Design, implement, and optimize automated laboratory workflows to increase productivity and reduce manual errors.
- Instrument Software Programming: Program instrument software and methods for automated liquid handling systems to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
- System Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain automated systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal functionality.
- Technical Documentation and Training: Author technical qualification documents, work instructions, SOPs, and provide end-user training and training materials to ensure compliance with GLP/GCP requirements.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure automated workflows and processes are developed, executed, and reported in compliance with GLP/GCP requirements, addressing Quality Assurance findings and supporting investigations.
- Technology Evaluation and Selection: Participate in the evaluation and selection of new automation platforms, instrumentation, and consumables to support project needs.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements for customized automation solutions, driving scientific innovation of automated workflows and staying informed on current and new technologies.
- Education: MS in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience: At least five years of experience programming, debugging, and optimizing liquid handling scripts for TECAN platforms or similar systems.
- Technical Skills: At least five years of experience in the independent operation and troubleshooting of liquid handling systems and other automated plate handling instruments (e.g. TECAN) to support analytical workflows.
- Business Acumen: Knowledge of cost, efficiency, and productivity optimization methods.
- Soft Skills: An analytical mind and outstanding communication skills.
