Key Responsibilities:

As a Laboratory Technician at UCLy, you will be responsible for organizing the daily management of the research laboratory and/or teaching laboratories to support teaching-research staff in their research and/or teaching activities (TP).

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Accompany teaching and research: Implement protocols in the fields of biology in support of teaching projects
  • Prepare and arrange teaching laboratories in accordance with the teaching practices' specifications, as requested
  • Prepare reagents and materials for students in the context of teaching
  • Prepare culture media and ensure their sterilization
  • Ensure the conservation of biological samples according to established rules and procedures
  • Apply hygiene and safety rules, quality approach, laboratory good practices (BPL), bioethics rules
  • Receive interns, teachers, and inform them about the quality approach, hygiene and safety rules, waste and stock management, and laboratory functioning
  • Manage stocks and orders for reagents, consumables, and small equipment within the authorized amount limit in relation with laboratory references
  • Receive reagent and material orders, respecting the established procedure
  • Ensure laboratory maintenance by keeping equipment and materials in good working order
  • Diagnose and coordinate the need for interventions on equipment maintenance in relation with laboratory references
  • Perform routine maintenance operations
  • Ensure the follow-up of biological waste evacuation

Profile and Competencies:

  • Knowledge in bacteriology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular and cellular biology
  • Knowledge of quality standards, laboratory good practices (BPL)
  • Knowledge of internal regulations and safety standards
  • Principles and techniques of risk management
  • Traceability procedures
  • Good relational skills
  • Familiarity with office and computer tools

Requirements:

Formation: Bac +2/3 minimum with experience
