The technological platform at SupBiotech Lyon includes a versatile laboratory dedicated to practical work.
To welcome all our students during their practical activities in the best possible conditions and to respond to the development of the school, we are recruiting a laboratory technician.
Job Description
Main Missions:
- Attached to the Lyon site management and the Laboratory Service management, you will participate in the technical and pedagogical activities of our establishment. Your main missions will be to participate in the preparation of equipment, laboratory management, and pedagogical support for practical teachings.
- You will be responsible for preparing and controlling the necessary equipment for the smooth running of practical teachings, in coordination with the speakers and members of the Laboratory Service.
- You will configure the laboratory rooms.
- You will update, consult, and exploit technical documentation.
- You will assist the teachers technically during practical sessions as needed.
- You will ensure that students and staff respect safety conditions.
- You will participate in the development of protocols, the development of new techniques, and the exploitation of results.
- You will manage laboratory consumables and materials, following internal procedures.
- You will maintain equipment in good working order.
- You will contribute, if necessary, to the implementation of new equipment.
- You will participate in the link between the teaching of the Ile-de-France and Lyon sites.
- You will participate in the SupBiotech Open Days.
The tasks described above may evolve in response to the development of the school.
Required Skills:
- Mastering laboratory techniques in Life Sciences and Chemistry.
- Mastering the use of laboratory equipment (PSM, microscope, spectrophotometer, pH meter, thermocycler, electrophoresis systems, centrifuges,...).
- Ability to communicate and report daily results.
- Knowledge of laboratory hygiene and safety rules.
- Good mastery of basic computer tools.
- Mastering scientific and technical English.
Laboratory Techniques:
- Cultures of microorganisms in Erlen and bioreactors, manipulations in aseptic conditions.
- Culture and maintenance of cell lines, transfection, phenotypic characterization.
- Cloning, PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA extraction and analysis.
- Purification and analysis of proteins by chromatography, biochemical dosages, SDS-PAGE, Western blot.
- Chemical titration, kinetics, infrared.
