We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Paris. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of inflatable structures for our BioPods and BioFarming solutions.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed designs for pneumatic structures, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and aesthetic requirements.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software and specialized engineering tools to create detailed 3D models and structural specifications for assembly.
- Perform structural analysis (FEA) and simulations (CFD) to verify the stability and integrity of inflatable structures under various conditions.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure all designs and products comply with local, national, and international building codes and regulations.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of pneumatic structure projects, from initial concept to completion.
- Identify and supervise subcontractors and manufacturers to achieve the best possible product in terms of craftsmanship, cost, and engineering.
- Conduct assembly line inspections and provide technical advice to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, materials, and advancements in inflatable structure engineering.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and durability of inflatable structures.
- Identify and address any structural issues or deficiencies during the assembly phase.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in structural engineering in a production environment with a focus on inflatable structures.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and completing inflatable structure projects.
- Proven experience in DfMA 3D modeling on CAD platform/software.
- Ability to generate FEA and CFD models of inflatable structures (SIMULIA).
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Fluency in French and English is required.
- Polyvalent spirit and ability to switch from design to documentation and inspection phases.
- Demonstrated experience designing built inflatable structures.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere.
