Legal Advisor / Litigation Specialist / Legal Assistant Job Overview

We are pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Legal Advisor, Litigation Specialist, or Legal Assistant to become a vital part of our Corporate Insurance and Risk (CIR) division. This position involves managing a diverse caseload, including pre-litigation and litigation matters, encompassing various claims types. We are seeking candidates from across the nation for a full-time role.

DAC Beachcroft LLP operates from multiple locations throughout the UK and employs a substantial workforce dedicated to providing top-tier legal services. The Corporate Insurance & Risk ('CIR') division focuses on delivering expert advice to corporate clients in defending claims of varying complexities and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within the Corporate Insurance & Risk team on a range of employer liability, public liability, and product liability claims for prominent corporate clients. Significant experience in handling similar claims is essential.
  • Deliver timely, professional, and high-quality service to corporate clients in managing their cases.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, showcasing a level of expertise and skill that reflects your experience.
  • Create value for clients by identifying opportunities and providing innovative, tailored legal solutions to address their challenges.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the CIR service offering, supporting marketing and business development initiatives (e.g., attending events, delivering client training, and engaging in networking activities).
  • Develop an understanding of DAC Beachcroft's broader service offerings.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Assist with liability investigations, including gathering documents, CCTV footage, and witness statements; obtaining police reports; and interviewing witnesses.
  • Prepare detailed reports for clients, including liability assessments, quantum analysis, reserve advice, and strategic recommendations.
  • Draft legal pleadings, manage procedural deadlines, and navigate the relevant legal portals.
  • Prepare instructions for counsel regarding hearings, advice, and conferences, and coordinate meetings with counsel.
  • Prepare for Case Management Conferences, including cost budget management and compliance.
  • Instruct and liaise with medical experts to arrange examinations, ensure claimant attendance, and facilitate access to necessary records.
  • Manage management information and conduct case review sessions with clients.
  • Handle disclosure processes, particularly concerning medical and treatment records, including cataloguing, reviewing, summarizing, and identifying missing documents.

Candidate Profile

A minimum of 2 years' general litigation experience is required, along with a solid understanding of employer liability and public liability claims. We welcome applications from Solicitors, CILEx professionals, Barristers, and experienced Paralegals whose backgrounds align with the role's requirements.

  • Experience working with corporate clients.
  • Commercial acumen – the ability to identify and cultivate legitimate business opportunities.
  • A pragmatic approach to legal issues, focusing on commercial perspectives rather than purely academic viewpoints.
  • Strong analytical skills – the capacity to critically evaluate factual evidence, pinpoint key legal arguments, and apply them effectively.
  • Proficiency in utilizing LinkedIn for marketing the CIR brand and services.
